Ordered a tent from Snow Peak. In Canada the only source is to order from their Portland store. Big stuff ships FedEx Ground which means all the adventures of “agents” at customs and whatnot. The $100 mystery fee for FedEx being my representative is one thing and the 13% HST is expected but the ~13% mystery duty is a real thorn. Stupid goverment out “protecting” our non existent tent industry? Sigh.
The tent itself is a large outer shell with smaller 3-4 person tent inside. Sleeping will feel smaller than our existing tent but the large lounge area is going to be great. I’ve been coveting the Dock Dome or Land Lock for a while but they’re almost twice the price.
This is my first big Snow Peak product and without having set it up yet it sure looks good. Everything is high quality and seems well thought out.
